Tell HN: Don't let anger drive your decisions towards the US government Everyone should keep in mind that the goal is to fix the US government. This goal should be more important to our generation than landing on the moon was to our parents/grandparents. it certainly is more consequential, both in the short and long term. The US govt is only superficially broken. The corruption can be purged without destroying the bedrock of the country. But it will take a lot of hard work. This is a community that understands the importance of dedication and perseverance. Most importantly though, it has to be done cooly and rationally. Even though everyone is mad, we cant let anger dictate our decisions. The last thing we need is a Robespierre (or worse). It would be very easily for someone to step up and demand the heads of bankers, lobbyists, etc. Dont listen to them. There is no quick fix for this situation. This will take us our entire lives and the underlying principles of the United States are worth keeping. Anger will only lead to less desirable outcomes. The goal is to fix the worlds most powerful country, not to punish the bad apples. The greatest, and singularly beneficial, outcome of this situation is that the United States becomes a force for good in the world. A government that is respected by the world and pushes all of humanity forward. |
