This is a visual representation of their tool for marketing purposes. God forbid google product places their own services in adverts for their own services...

It's not a lie* just a poor visualization, omitting anything but the top 5 and remapping that to the visual 100% of a pie chart, yes a better way would be to add a slice for "others", but at least all of the top five are distorted equally. Certainly not best practice for pie chart but not a deliberate lie, until proven otherwise.

They're probably showing the real analytics for some Google site--possibly a site that is used mostly internally by Googlers. Don't Googlers use G+ internally a fair amount? If so, pre-login breakdown doesn't seem so outlandish.

How is at a "lie"? A "lie" would be "This is what your site's traffic will look like". I'll assume OP is just being facetious about using the PRISM news peg...but the word "lie" does still mean something different than "for demo purposes"
