The promotion e-mail came at the right time, and I didn't find it annoying. Normally I just delete these e-mails, unsubscribe and/or mark them as spam.
I had totally forgotten about Instapaper in the meantime, since my e-reader was broken and I did not use it with other devices.
I bought a new one, so will check it out again.
