I'm a poor EU-based geek. I have a small amount of money in a bank account (~12k EUR) that I won't be needing for next 12 months. A saving account gives me 0,045% (!!). Basically, I'm loosing money (bank fees, inflation, etc.).

Since I don't need that money for the next 12 months, is there any low risk investment that could have an acceptable ROI (~5%) ?

Also, if I wanna learn more about investment in general, where do I start?
